How to use the encoder remotely via UPnP and DDNS

The latest versions of HEV-2K and HEV-10 programs already support UPnP and DDNS functions. You can use these two functions to remotely control the encoder or remotely play the video of the encoder. The following describes how to use these two functions.

1.First, you need to connect your Encoder to the video source, connect to the router through a network cable, set the IP address and DNS of the encoder, and ensure that the Encoder can access the Internet normally.

2. Next, you need to apply for a domain name. DDMALL products support domain name services on two platforms, NO-IP and Dynans. Taking NO-IP as an example, please log in to https://www.noip.com/ and register an account. After registration, log in to the main interface, select "NO-IP Hostnames", and click "Create Hostnames".

3. Custom enter a Hostname, and then click "Create Hostname".

4.Back to the main interface, you can see that you have obtained a domain name. Remember it, in this example my domain name is sinetest.ddns.net

5.Log in to the control webpage of the encoder, jump to "Network"-"DDNS", "Service Provider" select NO-IP, "Domain name" fill in the domain name you just applied for, and "User name" fill in the username of your NO-IP account."password" fill in the password of your NO-IP account. Finally, click "Apply" and wait for 10-20 seconds. Status displays "Connected", indicating that the DDNS setting is successful. Next we are going to set up UPnP.

6.On the encoder webpage, go to UPnP, and tun on the UPnP. There are three default port mappings. We will use the default three first.If the remote control is unsuccessful, modify it later.

7. After both DDNS and UPnP are set up, the encoder can be remotely controlled. Any computer on the Internet, enter sinetest.ddns.net:8016 on the browser to access the encoder's webpage remotely. Here "sinetest.ddns.net" is your domain name, please fill it out according to your actual situation. 8016 is the External Port corresponding to port 80 in step 6. Your mobile phone can also remotely access the encoder's web page through the cellular network.

8.At the same time, you can also pull the video stream of the encoder remotely. Take VLC as an example. Any computer on the Internet, open VLC and select "Media"-"Open Network Stream".

9.In the pop-up window, enter rtsp://sinetest.ddns.net:8554/live0, and then click "Play" to play the video stream of the encoder. Here "sinetest.ddns.net" is your domain name, please fill it out according to your actual situation. 8554 is the External Port corresponding to the Internal Port 8554 in step 6.

10. The picture of the video stream received by VLC is shown below. After VLC software is installed on the mobile phone, the video stream of the encoder can also be played through cellular data.
